Two Brinkley Morgan Attorneys to Serve as Workshop Leaders at The Florida Bar Family Law Section’s 2017 Trial Advocacy Workshop

Yueh-Mei Kim Nutter and Kenneth A. Gordon, partners at the full-service law firm of Brinkley Morgan, will serve as workshop leaders for The Florida Bar Family Law Section’s 2017 Trial Advocacy Seminar on July 20-23 in St. Petersburg, Fla.

The purpose of the three-day workshop is to help attorneys improve trial skills when preparing and presenting family law cases in court. Completion of the Trial Advocacy Workshop fulfills one of the trials required for application to become board certified in martial and family law.  All workshop leaders are Florida Bar Board Certified Marital and Family Law attorneys.

In addition to being board certified, Nutter and Gordon are both Fellows of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.  Nutter is also recognized by the Florida Supreme Court as a certified Family Mediator, certified Appellate Mediator, and certified Guardian Ad Litem. For more than 20 years, she has served as a Guardian Ad Litem in family law for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit for Broward County and in the Family Law, Criminal and Dependency Courts for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit for Palm Beach County. She also previously served as Chair of the Attorney Ad Litem & Guardian Ad Litem Ad Hoc Committee for the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar and helped create a new program designed to train people seeking to be appointed as a Guardian Ad Litem in family law court proceedings. She now owns and operates that program, called Speaking for Kids, Inc.  She concentrates her practice in the areas of family law, civil litigation, guardianships, and probate and estate litigation.

Gordon is the head of Brinkley Morgan’s Family Law department, focusing his practice on handling complex family law matters, including dissolutions of marriage, alimony, parental responsibility and timesharing disputes, business valuations, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, equitable distribution, adoption, domestic partnership agreements, appeals and all other family law related matters.  He is a member of the Palm Beach and South Palm Beach County Bar Associations, is past Chair of The Florida Bar’s Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee “I,” and is a member and past Chair of the Family Law Section of the Broward County Bar Association. He also serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for Broward Partnership for the Homeless and on the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee for South Florida PBS for Palm Beach, Broward and Dade counties.
