Brinkley Morgan, a full-service South Florida law firm established in 1975, recently participated in the seventh annual Miami Beach Gay Pride festival at Lummus Park in Miami Beach, Fla.
The two-day festival, which took place on April 11th and 12th, was hosted with the support of Miami-Dade County and various local affiliates, as a celebration and showcase of Miami’s LGBT community. Brinkley Morgan was among the 145 LGBT-friendly vendors and businesses at the event, which also included a beach party, women’s events, refreshments, two stages of entertainment, and a celebratory parade down Ocean Drive on Sunday.
Many in the LGBT community say there is even more reason to celebrate this year with same-sex marriage becoming legally recognized in Florida.
“It’s an honor to be part of this long-awaited celebration for marriage equality,” said Brinkley Morgan family law attorney Kenneth Gordon. “Now more than ever, same-sex couples need to be proactive to protect their assets and understand their marital rights.”
Gordon is a Partner and Co-Chair of Brinkley Morgan’s Marital & Family Law Group, which was recently ranked Tier 1 in family law by U.S. News & World Report’s Best Law Firms 2015 edition. The group handles a wide range of matters, including dissolutions of marriage, parental responsibility and time-sharing, equitable distribution, business valuations, alimony, child support, attorney’s fees, preparation and enforcement of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, paternity, domestic violence, and child dependency.
