Brinkley Morgan Donates Halloween Costumes to Pediatric Patients of the Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center

Want to know the most popular Halloween costumes for children this year? Ask the attorneys and staff at Brinkley Morgan, who recently collected boxes upon boxes of Halloween costumes for the pediatric patients of the Children’s Diagnostic and Treatment Center (CDTC).

“Elsa and Anna from Disney’s Frozen were certainly among the most popular, as were super hero costumes for the boys,” said attorney George Taylor, who distributed costumes to kids at the CDTC for a second year in a row. “We held our first costume drive for the CDTC last year, and it was such a success, that this year we decided to make it a Halloween tradition.”

In addition to the children who received costumes at last week’s event, costumes also were delivered to CDTC families by physicians and case managers in the days leading up to Halloween.

“Brinkley Morgan’s gift brought so much joy to our families, and that joy will continue long after Halloween is over,” said Amanda Mitchell, director of development at the Children’s Diagnostic and Treatment Center. “A mother of the five young girls told me that last year, she couldn’t afford costumes for her kids. For their school’s dress-up day, she used a marker to draw cat whiskers on their faces so they wouldn’t feel left out. She was so excited that this year, her girls can wear proper costumes to their school’s holiday celebration, and then again on Halloween day.”

She added, “Another little boy who suffers from a chronic illness was in clinic having blood drawn. He looked miserable when he walked out of our phlebotomy room. When I told him he could come pick out a costume for himself and his 3 year old brother, his face lit up.”

Harris Solomon, a partner with Brinkley Morgan who also has distributed costumes at the CDTC for two years in a row, said, “We really enjoyed our time with the kids. As always, it brings joy to give joy. We couldn’t be more appreciative of those beautiful smiles we received from them.”
