Michael Brinkley our firm’s senior mentor and founder, retired on July 28, 2006, the firm’s 31st anniversary.
Mr. Brinkley received his Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from the University of Florida in 1965 and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida College of Law in 1968. From 1968 though July, 2006, Mr. Brinkley practiced law in Fort Lauderdale. During his prestigious career, he practiced in the areas of corporate and business law, real estate, estate planning, probate and trust administration. His practice also included administrative law and he acted as counsel to the City of Plantation Retirement System.
Mr. Brinkley has been a long-standing member of the American, Florida and Broward County Bar Associations. His recent activities in the community have included being a member of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, Beach Council Chair, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Downtown Council Steering Committee. He is also on the Board of Governors of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Cultural Foundation of Broward, Inc., the Fort Lauderdale Historical Society and Leadership Broward. As an avid boater, he has been a long-standing member of the Marine Industry Association of South Florida, the Fort Lauderdale Mariner’s Club and the Lauderdale Yacht Club. He will be sorely missed by his Partners, associates and staff members. We hope his retirement brings him everything he could hope for, including time with his children and grandchildren, travel on his boat and quality time with his wife, Amy. Congratulations, Michael! |
